Regatta Season

Regatta season runs from May thru early August. Keahiakahoe have adult crews practicing at Sand Island as well as on the Kahalu'u site. The kids paddle in Kahalu'u.

Long Distance Season

The long distance season starts right after the regatta season. There are crews both on Sand Island as well as in Kahalu'u. There are many races during September and October ending with the NaWahine O Kekai for the women and the Molokai Hoe for the men.

Na Opio / OIA


The Na Opio and the Castle High School paddlers take the waters during the winter months. Practice start in November and the races run in December through February. Keahiakahoe are the 2011 Na Opio Champions.

Keahiakahoe Sponsored Races

Kahiau Race

The Kahiau is a pre-seaons race from Keehi Lagoon to Honolulu Harbor. The race is sponsored by Keahiakahoe and is usually held in the later part of March. We normally see a turn out of about 70 crews.

Kala'iomalulani

The Kala'iomalulani is another pre-season race held on the Windward side in May every year. This is also a race for the keiki.

Hei Hei Wa'a

Hei Hei Wa'a race series are for kids in 4th to 12th grade. Teams from the South Pacific are invited to participate. It is a great opportunity for the island kids to interact with kids from other areas of the Pacific.
